Caitlin Leachman

Caitlin Leachman received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Certificate in Addiction Studies from Vancouver Island University. She holds a Master of Arts Counselling Psychology (MACP) from the University of Western Ontario, and has extensive training in mental health crisis management. She is accredited as a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC).

Caitlin works with clients of all ages, backgrounds, and cultures. She has experience working with children and adults from 2SLGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse communities. She specializes in perinatal mental health, which includes treatment for emotional and mental health issues arising from difficulty conceiving, pregnancy, motherhood, and the loss of a child, with a focus on the impact of prior trauma on the pregnancy journey. Caitlin is also passionate about helping clients navigate the difficult terrain of childhood and adult trauma, providing them the space, knowledge, and skills to move forward. She also has experience working with depression, anxiety, disordered eating, body image concerns, addiction, and stress.

Caitlin offers treatment through Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and trauma-based approaches such as polyvagal theory. Her goal is to offer all clients a safe and supportive environment to express themselves as well as to learn and practice new skills.
