Inga Raw (Student)

Inga Raw is a practicum therapist and a student member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). She holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of South Africa and is currently pursuing her Master of Counselling degree. Inga is passionate about emotional intelligence (EI) and its role in fostering mental and emotional well-being. She enjoys helping individuals and groups develop these skills to navigate life with greater self-awareness and resilience. Having lived in five countries, Inga values diversity and finds deep meaning in working with people from all walks of life. 

Her areas of focus include trauma, major life transitions, grief and loss, spirituality, church-related trauma, depression, anxiety, immigration and cross-cultural struggles, and relational challenges such as infidelity and betrayal. Inga takes a person-centred and systemic approach to counselling, meeting each client with warmth, curiosity, and respect for their unique journey. She aims to create a safe, collaborative space where clients feel empowered to explore their thoughts, emotions, and relationships. Depending on the client’s needs, she integrates a variety of therapeutic modalities including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Motivational Interviewing (MI),Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Gestalt Play Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).

With over 20 years of experience as a social entrepreneur in South Africa and Canada, Inga has set up and run a practice called Hope Unlimited, working as an EI coach, parent coach, group facilitator, lay counsellor, and child and youth worker. When she’s not in the therapy room, you’ll likely find Inga experimenting in the kitchen, dancing around the living room, gardening, making art, or swimming in the nearest body of water.
